Critical: Every second counts during fire emergencies
  • Stop all activity immediately
  • Listen for alarm type and announcements
  • Alert others who may not have heard
  • Move toward nearest exit (no elevators!)
2

Choose Your Route (15-30 seconds)

Route Priority:
  1. Primary: Nearest designated exit
  2. Secondary: Next nearest if blocked
  3. Emergency: Any safe exit available
Never attempt blocked or dangerous routes
3

Move Efficiently (30 seconds - 3 minutes)

  • Walk quickly but donโ€™t run
  • Stay right in hallways and stairwells
  • Help others without stopping traffic
  • Stay low if smoke is present
  • Test doors before opening (hot = find alternate)
4

Reach Safety (3-5 minutes)

  • Exit building completely
  • Move 150+ feet from building
  • Go to assembly point immediately
  • Find your group and report missing persons
