🚨 When Lockdown Announced

ACT IMMEDIATELY: You have seconds to respond.
Lockdown Types:
  • “Lockdown, lockdown, lockdown” = Immediate threat
  • “Secure the building” = External threat
  • “Shelter in place” = Environmental hazard
Immediate Actions:
  1. Stop all movement immediately
  2. Get to nearest safe room
  3. Follow staff instructions

🏠 Safe Room Steps

Secure the Room:
  1. Lock door immediately
  2. Barricade with furniture if possible
  3. Turn off lights
  4. Close blinds/curtains
  5. Move away from doors/windows
Stay Hidden:
  • Gather in corner farthest from door
  • Stay below window level
  • Remain completely silent
  • Turn off all devices
  • Wait for official all-clear

🚫 Critical Don’ts

Never do these during lockdown:
❌ Leave safe room without official clearance ❌ Make noise or talk ❌ Look out windows or doors
❌ Use electronic devices that make sound ❌ Try to contact people outside ❌ Open doors for anyone (wait for official all-clear)

Teachers:
  • Lock door immediately
  • Move students away from doors/windows
  • Keep everyone quiet
  • Take silent attendance
  • Wait for official instructions
Admin:
  • Coordinate with law enforcement
